The Raleigh H.E.A.R.T. campaign is a community-driven initiative led by Emancipate NC to create an Alternate Crisis Response Unit to decrease the number of armed police encounters with community members experiencing mental health crises (you can learn more here). ONE Wake's Mental Health Team has approved a plan to engage ONE Wake members in listening sessions to learn more about this issue.
The Raleigh City Manager’s Office is asking for community input on this proposal from now until March. Our goal is to help deliver 100 Raleigh residents from ONE Wake member institutions to attend a listening session at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church on February 29. Please register to attend if you are concerned about the safety and well being of Raleigh residents facing acute mental health crises.
