ONE Wake neighborhood leaders and their supporters are rallying at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church on Sunday, February 27, one day in advance of an important Wake County Board of Commissioners work session. During this session the Commissioners will receive a menu of potential options from county staff to expand property tax assistance across Wake County. The question is whether or not these options will truly address the need in our communities.
The purpose of this rally is to lift up the elements of our own grassroots proposal for property tax assistance that has been developed with the input of 100's of long time, low income homeowners. During the rally, homeowners and their supporters will make a passionate argument for why expanded assistance is needed now to protect generational wealth, especially in historically underserved African American neighborhoods.
Please join us for this event. The rally will be held outdoors, and will also be livestreamed on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/ONEWAKEIAF/
