***The US Senate Candidate Assembly has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts with candidates***

WHAT:strictly non-partisan meeting of hundreds of delegates from the NC IAF networks (One Wake, Durham CAN, Justice United, Forsyth Multiracial project, and NC Congress of Latino Organizations) with candidates for U.S. Senate based on a common agenda for change. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our collective power and highlight our nonpartisan statewide get out the vote efforts.

WHEN and WHERE: Sunday, October 16, 3:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (sanctuary).

WHY:

  • There are 200+ institutions organizing with the IAF in North Carolina, and each are dealing with complex local issues (immigration, access to health care, affordable housing, safety, education, etc.) that can be resolved at the federal level.

  • The upcoming midterm elections will determine the direction of the U.S. in years to come, given its very competitive nature and the slim balance of power in Congress.

  • Elections often present an opportunity for grassroots leaders to gather important commitments from candidates seeking to gain votes.

  • North Carolinians need a vehicle through which their voices are heard on issues that impact their families.

WHO: 1000+ leaders connected with IAF in North Carolina: One Wake, Durham CAN, Orange County Justice United, Forsyth Pre-Sponsoring Committee, and the NC Congress of Latino Organizations.

HOW: Institutions connected to the NC IAF aggregate their collective power to arrange a meeting of delegates of the diverse networks on a common agenda. The public action will be an opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves and tell our delegates where they stand on our priorities.

***ONE Wake is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates***
