Join leaders from Cary First Christian Church and Union Bethel AME for relational canvassing in the Kingswood neighborhood of Cary. Kingswood is a historically African American neighborhood where long time residents are now facing pressure from gentrification in the form of rising property taxes and predatory homeflippers. 

The neighborhood is already having meetings at Union Bethel to discuss how to best improve and preserve the community. Our opportunity is to use this canvassing day to combine forces with this existing effort in a complimentary way.  

Our goals for this canvassing action are: 1) test interest in ONE Wake's Penny for Housing campaign; 2) recruit pledges from voters to participate in the next town election; 3) invite neighborhood residents to engage in the existing effort led by Union Bethel AME and residents to preserve the neighborhood and protect the generational wealth of the community.
