Over the last year residents of mobile home park Las Americas have worked alongside leaders from a number of key Cary institutions to organize their neighborhood in a campaign that has made real, tangible progress on substandard conditions in their community. They have done this work through ONE Wake's sister organization, the NC Congress of Latino Organizations (NCCLO).
This campaign has helped shape the agenda of an upcoming, statewide, non-partisan public accountability action with Governor Roy Cooper and Attorney General Josh Stein. This action is being organized by NC Latino Power -- an arm of NCCLO.
ONE Wake members are invited to participate as guests. This is a good opportunity for us to witness a large action to help us imagine our October 13 founding assembly.
The action has two goals:
1) Receive an accountability report from the Governor and Attorney General on the promises they made to the Latino community during a similar action at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, in 2016.
Please fill out the form here to confirm your attendance. Use the form to RSVP. The link in the form is the live link to the action which you can use to join on Thursday.
