Join leaders from ONE Wake institutions and supporting congregations from across the County to shape a vision for developing affordable homeownership at scale in Raleigh and across Wake County. During the meeting, participants will react to and shape a 2024 strategy to build a large base of potential homeowners and supporters behind a bold vision, and to leverage the 2024 Raleigh City Council and Wake County Commissioner elections to win commitments from candidates (in a strictly non-partisan manner).
This vision is based on the nationally recognized Nehemiah homeownership model championed by ONE Wake's sister organizations in New York, Chicago, Baltimore, and elsewhere, that in East Brooklyn alone has led to the development of 6,500 affordable housing units which have generated over $1.5 BILLION in equity primarily for Black and Brown first time homeowners, and have served as a crucial bulwark against gentrification and displacement.
Please register in advance to receive materials and information about logistics ahead of the meeting.
