Raleigh, NC - [April, 2026] - Officials from the Town of Zebulon and Raleigh City Council, along with Wake County Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor, traveled with ONE Wake team members and local developers to tour the Nehemiah Development in Brooklyn, New York. Nehemiah HDFC and East Brooklyn Congregations, our partners in the Industrial Areas Foundation, provided essential insight into how homes can rise from ruins.

The Nehemiah Development is a successful example of community leaders working with developers, government officials and employers to invest in long term solutions for housing affordability. By bringing officials from our cities together in a similar fashion, ONE Wake is working to develop new strategies to change the way we address who can afford to live in our communities. Acknowledging this is a complex issue, we are providing examples of solutions as a way to claim our power, inviting elected officials to think big with us. You can view photos from the trip here.
