“Front Door Democracy – How Local Governments Work,” is designed to provide ONE Wake leaders an opportunity to discuss the reasons we have local government, to understand the organization and structure of local governments in Wake County, to explore the strengths and challenges of governing at the local level, and to learn about the competing public values that arise when searching for solutions to public problems.

About this Series:

This spring we are launching a pilot Civics Academy which will consist of three information and presentation workshops. These workshops will be interactive and each will last up to two hours. Sandy Pearce, owner of Strategic Policy and Training Associates will develop and facilitate the first two workshops. Devin Ross, lead coordinator of ONE Wake, will facilitate the third workshop.

The workshops will include presentations from experts, facilitated conversations with former elected officials, interactive exercises, discussion, and questions and answers. The workshops will be recorded and live-streamed. After the pilot workshops are conducted, evaluated,  and revised as needed, ONE Wake will determine how the workshops can be adapted and shared with  other member institutions.  Sandy Pearce will continue to be available to plan and implement sharing of the workshops with other member institutions.
