Weekend Reading: Homeowner Assistance Campaign Update
Cary Runoff Election Kickoff on July 7
Here's What's Next for ONE Wake

Weekend Reading: Homeowner Assistance Campaign Update

One year ago, ONE Wake began laying the groundwork for a campaign to prevent the displacement of longtime, low income homeowners due to skyrocketing property taxes. 12 months in, ONE Wake and our allies have made significant progress developing options for a new Wake County assistance program for struggling homeowners, as well as an accountable timeline.

To mark this anniversary, we've written up a full report on the first year of ONE Wake's homeowner assistance campaign.

Report: Homeowner Assistance Campaign Update

Cary Runoff Election Kickoff on July 7

ONE Wake leaders in Cary have committed to engage in non-partisan GOTV canvassing to ensure that Cary voters don't overlook the important runoff election for the At-Large seat and District C. Our goal is to engage 600 infrequent voters in select precincts, as well as to recruit pledges to vote internally from members of our institutions.

On July 7 at 5:30 PM we will kick off our runoff canvassing campaign with a brief press conference to help call attention to the start of early voting, and to draw a connection between the runoff election and affordable housing policy in Cary. Immediately following the press conference, our team of volunteer canvassers will depart to knock on doors in Precinct 04-06.

Here's What's Next for ONE Wake

This fall ONE Wake will invest in a seven week long non-partisan, relational GOTV campaign to engage 3,800 infrequent voters across Wake County. The GOTV campaign will lead up to a 1,000 person hybrid action on October 13 when we will ask local candidates for Raleigh City Council and the Wake County Commissioners to publicly react to our grassroots agenda for change.

We are asking each volunteer to commit to two, three hour canvassing shifts, as well as one sixty minute training in advance of their first canvass.
